Native American Prayer
Oh, Great Spirit whose voice I hear in the Winds, and whose breath gives life to all the world – hear me – I come before you, one your children. I am small and weak. I need your strength and wisdom. Let me walk in beauty and let my eyes ever behold the red and purple sunset. Make my hands respect the things you have made, my ears sharp to hear your voice. Make me wise so that I may know the things you have taught my People, the lesson you have hidden in every leaf and rock. I seek strength not to be superior to others, but to be able to fight my greatest enemy, myself. Make me ever ready to come to you, with clean hands and straight eyes, so when life fades as a fading sunset, my spirit may come to you without shame.

Sun Salutation
With the first rays of the Sun, I greet you Father Sun, Dawn Star
Because with your Light, I begin to awaken and contemplate life
I continue to understand myself because of your light
For I am a piece of you, a piece of the Sun
This is why at dawn I surrender to you
So that you may know me and protect me
I understand the orientation of my spirit is with you
I am initiated into action by your first rays with sustaining energy
That assists me in carrying out my life in harmony with the cosmos
It is you Father Sun that reveals my path to me
So That I can fulfill my solar destiny
Because of you, I do not lose myself but walk in balance with all life

Great Spirit, Creator of All, I welcome You into my heart, mind, body and soul. There is always room for You here.
